The Old Farmstead was painted from reference photos I took a few years ago while visiting beautiful Saltspring Island in the Salish Sea. This is the historic Ruckle Farm where free run turkeys are always gathered in groups and wandering at will.  I took the artistic license of adding some mountains in the background to create more depth in the painting. I loved capturing the old farmhouse, resident turkeys and the beautiful sunshine on this enjoyable day!
