A beautiful afternoon walk along the shoals on Saltspring Island inspired this acrylic painting. I’m often drawn by the shadow and light effect in a scene and that combined with the directional lines of the rocky shelves on the beach prompted me to want to put paint to canvas. It was such a quiet walk, with the water gently lapping, a slight salty breeze and the odd high pitched whistle of bald eagles in the trees along the shore. A beautiful moment in time captured on canvas.
